So I don't forget...
Gosh, I must not be saying it fast enough... ? I've just emailed it to Wolfboy to figure it out for me. Is that cheating? :PP.S. I had to look up Homophone! Your blog is turning out to be very educational for me - ;) I've always spelled it homonym.
I figured it out...Frankengirl: think Irish.
It's an exclamation. Speak as if you're using an Irish or Scottish accent. There are actually two types of homonyms-homophones and homographs. Homophones sound the same but are spelled differently (night-knight), homographs are spelled the same but pronounced differently (lead-lead), with different meanings of course.I learned this on The Word Nerds podcast. This is one of my favorite podcasts. If only there was a companions show called The Grammar Nerds.
I still haven't figured it out. Call me stupid, if you want. And what's all this about phoning hom?
Finally! The accent definitely helps. I think my mind is just too sweet and pure for this blog - ;)
Damn, it took me all day to figure this one out! Don't I feel like a dummy. ;-)Good one!
What does it mean that i got it instantly? Of course I am half Irish, maybe that helped? Hee Hee Hee...
