I figured it out...
Frankengirl: think Irish.
It's an exclamation. Speak as if you're using an Irish or Scottish accent.
There are actually two types of homonyms-homophones and homographs. Homophones sound the same but are spelled differently (night-knight), homographs are spelled the same but pronounced differently (lead-lead), with different meanings of course.
I learned this on The Word Nerds podcast. This is one of my favorite podcasts. If only there was a companions show called The Grammar Nerds.
I still haven't figured it out. Call me stupid, if you want.
And what's all this about phoning hom?
